#19 – Chia Seeds
You shouldn’t eat chia seeds because it is a trend now. You should eat chia seeds because these seeds will protect you from diabetes and because these seeds will keep your blood sugar in the line if you already have diabetes.
The best part about chia seeds is that they are significantly high in fiber, but low in carbohydrates. A 1-oz serving of chia seeds contains 12 grams of carbohydrates which don’t raise blood sugar. The fibers contained in chia seed have properties that can actually slow down the rate the food moves through your stomach and thereby lower your blood sugar.
