Although people who ate quinoa can swear that it tastes like grains, quinoa is actually related to dark leafy greens! And besides quinoa isn’t related to grains at all, it is also much healthier than grains. Only one cup of quinoa contains an abundance of proteins, nine essential amino acids, and other important nutrients.
One of the most important nutrients found in quinoa is called lysine. That special amino acid helps our organism to absorb calcium and it helps our body produce carnitine, a special chemical that converts fatty acids into energy. It is also important to mention that high fiber content in quinoa will balance your blood sugar and keep you full for several hours.
