And once again we feature our old buddy extra-virgin olive oil on our list of healthy foods. This time, we feature it on a list of foods that stabilize diabetes. And guess what? Extra-virgin olive oil can indeed stabilize high blood sugar.
Extra-virgin olive oil is highly beneficial for diabetics because it contains a special chemical called oleic acid which is able to reduce HDL cholesterol and triglycerides in diabetes patients. Consuming extra-virgin olive oil will also reduce inflammation and protect your blood vessels. Just make sure that you purchase extra-virgin olive oil from reputable sources because some extra-virgin olive oils actually don’t contain a drop of olive oil but contain soy oil.
